MACCASSI KILO, GHOSTRAW, OWL FACE MAFIA - "Underwater"
@ghostraw @Mackilo @OwlFaceMafia
Maccassi Kilo is one my favorite hip-hop artists/spitters right now. He easily admits he a "gorgeous rap god" that he's not "bound by physical law." Maccassi is a commanding, lyrically complex (often slyly humorous) Deity in the vein of RZA during his Gravediggaz period.Maccassi's sound is trap-ish with plenty of experimentation and nods to other genres. "Body" is a gem ("she throw the p***y like a snowball in the winter."). He rhymes over percussion, and a melody that breathes, minimal and stripped-down like @SlumGuerilla. "Vacancy" is a tale of bad communication, denial of affection and despair ("love don't live here there's a vacancy, You may have come here mistakenly").
"UNDERWATER" is standout for 2014. Maccassi Kilo is a King, a God, and perfection. His words. "FBGM" ends the album upbeat, funky with Maccassi repeating the title "fuck bitches get money."
Maccassi Kilo's brave experimental style is nice prototype for the future.
